NEW! Monthly Contest and Prizes!

March 3, 2010 - 5:19 pm No Comments

Starting this issue, each newsletter will feature a monthly contest for members to complete and submit for a chance to win a prize.

The rules are pretty simple:

1. You must be a member of Shared Ancestors and/or GeneaBlogs to participate. No purchase necessary.

2. Complete that month’s contest and email your solution to the Admin. The first correct solution received will be the winner of that month’s prize. Regardless, entries must be received by the 25th of each month.

3. That month’s winner, along with the solution, will be announced in the next month’s newsletter. The winner will be notified by email that they have won. The winner will then need to email their address to the Admin so that their prize can be mailed to them. If none of the entries received have a correct solution the prize will not be awarded that month.

Enjoy and Good Luck!

Merry Christmas!

December 23, 2009 - 12:16 pm No Comments

Over a year ago we began this journey by introducing our  genealogy “parent site”  -  Shared Ancestors. With time and toil we’ve managed to set a solid base for a great genealogy site. In late July 2009 members received the first of our monthly newsletters. We hope you have enjoyed them; the staff has worked hard to bring you a newsletter that is not only informative, but enjoyable as well. Once Shared Ancestors was established we felt there was a need for a genealogy based blogging site that offered researchers free space devoid of annoying ads and such. In August 2009 this desire was fulfilled and GeneaBlogs was born.

Many members have contributed to the sites, as well as the newsletters, and we greatly appreciate their participation and help. The staff at Shared Ancestors and GeneaBlogs would  like to thank each and every member for their patience and support the past year – we couldn’t have done it without you!

From the Staff at Shared Ancestors and GeneaBlogs……

“We wish you and yours Peace, Love, and Happy Holidays!”

Shared Ancestors now with new look!

December 2, 2009 - 7:00 pm No Comments

Hello Members!

Big news – Shared Ancestors is proud to announce the arrival of our new and improved web site! It has a new fresh look and ensures a more secure environment for your genealogy info. And as promised – Tutorials are now available! You can find them online at Shared Ancestors in the Menu section. Right now we have the basics to get you started with posting your own family tree(s) at the site so check them out. And be sure to check back in the next few days as we continue to add to the Tutorials.

To get you started all you have to do is email us at: admin@sharedancestors.com, request a family tree and give us the name (what you want to name your tree).  That’s it!
We will open up a tree for you and give you administration rights to it. This will take 24-72 hours and then we will email you when your tree is ready for you to begin adding your genealogy data.

COMING SOON – be on the lookout for our “Grand Re-Opening”. We will be running a week long genealogy “puzzle”. One clue will be posted daily and the first member to email in with the correct answer will win a prize. That is all we are going to reveal right now but details will be sent out soon!

Well that is it for now. Please enjoy this month’s newsletter, get your family tree set up soon, and do keep an eye out for bigger and better things to come!
